The database section of the Cloud allows you to manage any database of an App. This means you can modify, add or remove any registry of a database you have in an App without the user having to re download it to appreciate the changes. All you have to do is create a local database from a Data View page on your App and link it to the Cloud.
First you log in to Mobincube, select the App you want to work on, go to the edition area and create a Data View type of page/section:
From here you can create the cloud database in two ways:
- Directly switching to the cloud option (you need a standard plan or above)
- Creating an offline database, populating it offline and uploading it afterwards. This option is best if you need to import big amounts of data from a CSV file. If you have images, sounds or videos offline they will be automatically uploaded to the cloud.
After confirming the next warning, you will be able to access it from the cloud.
Now you are able to access the Cloud and manage the data that this database holds. Just select the App and database you created:
Now we can visualize, add, edit or remove rows from the database. Also you can modify the text fields or change or upload new images.
If you want to add a remote image which is anywhere online outside the Cloud, you do not need to click on the icon inside the field; just type in the URL. In order to fill fields of a new row or edit them just select the field by double clicking on it and type in the data you want it to hold.
If the field is for a remote image, just click on the little icon inside the field. This icon will redirect you to remote images of the Cloud where you can select the image you want or add a new one. Click on the image you like so it's selected, and click on the "X" icon to go back to the database section.
IMPORTANT!! To make any of your changes effective you have to commit them. Once you have finished working with a database you have to click on the "Publish" button before you log out:
Also you can visualize the database and its rows in different ways for your comfort. You can limit the number of rows shown, search for certain values or play around with 3 different views of the page.
