In the edition area there is a Toolbar, located on the right side of the screen and it is divided in 4 categories of options:
- Screen tree
- App properties
- Screen properties
- View properties
- Simulator
This tool bar allows us to configure different properties of the screen that we are currently editing.
Now let’s see how to use the VIEW PROPERTIES.
The VIEW PROPERTIES setting is available only on a Data View screen. That is the screen which allows us to use a database.
In these properties we have available 1 icon: the Bar manager.
If we are in a List View, then we will also have the icon of the Search Engine (that is possible to use only in a list view) available.
In the following image we are in a list view, so we have both icons available:
In the View Properties Bar Manager icon, we will see all the bars created in the bar manager of the Screen Properties which are used to configure the different properties of the screen that we are currently editing.
WHEN TO USE/DRAG A BAR IN THE VIEW PROPERTIES
It is really important to know the difference between the Screen Properties and the View Properties.
When we are in the Screen Properties, we are setting the properties of the whole screen.
When we are in the View Properties, we are setting the properties of the specific View that we are currently editing.
In this case if we need to insert a different Navigation Bar in different Views (list view, detail view, map view, web view etc.) we will need to open the View Properties, open the bar manager and drag the bar that we need to use in that view.
If we have a bar with icons to which we have assigned actions referred to the whole app or screen, then it is possible to drag the bar in the view by using the Screen Properties.
*NOTE: IF WE DRAG A BAR IN THE VIEW FROM THE SCREEN PROPERTIES, THEN THE BAR WILL BE DISPLAYED IN ALL THE VIEWS OF THE DATA VIEW AS SEEN IN THE FOLLOWING IMAGE.
