Mobincube Protocol

Can anyone confirm that the Mobincube protocol support documentation is accurate?  Specifically,:

window.location.href= “mobincube://javascript/getVariables(‘{cookie.variable}’,’{var.variable}’)”;

I have tried repeatedly to get this to work without success.  Better yet, has anyone got this to work and if so how?
